After the Second World War, a British colonel and his better half are sent to Hamburg for post-war recreation. Rachael Morgan touches base in the remains of Hamburg amidst winter to meet her significant other, Lewis, a British colonel who has been given the errand of reconstructing the demolished city. However, when they head to their new home, Rachael thinks that its stunning that Lewis settled on an unforeseen choice: they will impart the enormous house to its past proprietors, a German widow and his harried little girl. In this charged environment, threatening vibe and torment make place for energy and selling out.
