What should be a quiet dissent at the 1968 Democratic National Convention prompted a savage encounter with the police and the National Guard. The coordinators of the dissent, including Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Tom Hayden and Bobby Seale, were blamed for scheme to induce revolting, and the resulting preliminary was one of the most famous ever.
