Zootropolis 2
Judy Hopps, our determined bunny cop, and her sly fox partner Nick Wilde are back on another wild ride in Zootopia. This time around, they’re tackling a new case when Gary De’ Snake slithers into town and shakes things up. As they go undercover to crack this mystery, their teamwork gets a big test.
Kicking off right where we last saw them in the first Zootopia movie from about ten years ago (which totally snagged an Oscar), Judy and Nick jump into action again. A lot has changed since then, especially in how cool cartoons look these days with all the CGI magic they’ve got going on now.
The brains behind movies like Moana are running the show here. They’ve whipped up a story that’s thrilling yet still something kids can enjoy. Plus, they’re introducing some fun new faces like Gary De’Snake and a beaver named Nibbles Maplestick—along with a bunch of other talking animals.
There’s even an epic scene with like 50,000 critters that feels straight out of one of those massive Hollywood blockbusters. And for folks who catch movie references, there’s some nods to classics that’ll bring smiles—or maybe some nostalgic tear-soaked popcorn—to viewers who love spotting these Easter eggs throughout the flick!
This movie is a fun rollercoaster of crazy situations all mashed together at once! It’s one of those films that’ll have parents nodding along if they notice characters like SKZOO from the Stray Kids, a Korean pop group, try to sneak in little nods to folks watching with their kids.
Picture this: you’ve got layers of stuff happening on-screen simultaneously. Like, there’s this search engine called “Zoogle” (wink wink) and video channels named “EweTube” for our funny goat pals. It’s full of visual jokes and wordplay—think quick shots of googly eyes or a comical take on idioms like an animal saying, “Got the weight on my shoulders,” only for another to quip back, “But I don’t even have shoulders!”
The animal crew here really moves like they’re humans onward in their day—like Mayor Brian Winddancer swinging his magnificent mane around like it’s just another Tuesday. The film chats about whether you’ve gotta be true to yourself even if it means tough times ahead.
Just like in the first Zootopia flick, you’re gonna visit a ton of wild places—Sahara deserts and frozen Tundratowns included! They also throw in some new spots, such as Lynxley Manor, where big events unfold. It basically reminds you how these crazy worlds collide when animals show off both their natural instincts and human-like thinking at every turn.
In “Swamp Market,” those animators get to let their imagination run wild with all sorts of semi-aquatic critters. It’s pretty fun to watch what they come up with! And oh man, the therapy sessions are a riot—Police Chief Captain Bogo sends our bunny and fox duo to these group therapy meetings that are meant to help them work on their teamwork issues. They call it “Partners in Crisis,” and it’s led by this quirky new character, Dr. Fuzzby.
We’ve also got Gazelle making an appearance; yes, the pop star (who’s basically Shakira in animal form) hops back on stage for her catchy tune during the credits. Stick around after that for a little something extra!
This sequel leans into exploring how different personalities—whether they’re people or animals—make life interesting and sometimes funny. It shows us that sometimes, true love can bloom between complete opposites, which is kind of endearing, don’t you think?
